Caregiver Stress can be Hazardous to your Health

Alzheimer's | Caregiver Support | Senior Healthcare Education

According to the Mayo Clinic the following are signs of Caregiver Stress:

  • Feeling tired most of the time
  • Feeling overwhelmed and irritable
  • Sleeping too much or too little
  • Gaining or losing a lot of weight
  • Losing interest in activities you used to enjoy
  • Prolonged exposure to high levels of caregiver stress can begin to affect your physical health negatively.

Family caregivers experiencing extreme stress have been shown to age prematurely. This level of stress can take as much as 10 years off a family caregiver’s life. (Elissa S. Epel, Dept of Psychiatry, Univ of Calif, SF, et al, From the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, Dec 7, 2004, Vol 101, No. 49)

If you were able to identify with any of the signs in the list above you should attend the educational seminar on Caregiver Stress on October 14, 2014 at 210 N. Grove Street, Merritt Island FL 32953. Please call Stacy at 321-474-8289. See link for details: Pat DeAngelis Caregiver Stress Seminar
