That’s why September 7–13, 2025 is so meaningful because it’s National Assisted Living Week® (NALW), a nationwide celebration created by the National Center for Assisted Living (NCAL) to honor older adults, their families, and the compassionate teams who support them.
What is National Assisted Living Week?
First established in 1995, National Assisted Living Week is an annual opportunity to celebrate the people who make assisted living communities so special, the residents, families, caregivers, and team members. Sponsored in 2025 by PharMerica, the week inspires assisted living communities nationwide to host meaningful assisted living events that highlight the joy of everyday living.
As NCAL Executive Director LaShuan Bethea shared:
“There is an inherent desire for experience and adventure no matter what stage of life someone happens to be in. Assisted living utilizes person-centered care to support residents through their different ideas of adventure, allowing us to honor them in an exciting and unique way.”
