Financial Support for Your Future
How to Pay for Assisted Living in Florida
What Financial Resources Are Available?
At Innovation Senior Living, we help families explore financial resources, understand community costs, and connect with professionals who can provide guidance. Depending on eligibility, options may include long-term care insurance, VA Aid & Attendance benefits, Florida Medicaid Long-Term Care, private pay, and other qualifying assistance programs.

Can Long-Term Care Insurance Help Pay for Senior Living?
If you or your loved one already have a long-term care insurance policy, it may provide benefits toward assisted living or other qualifying long-term care services, depending on the individual policy.
Coverage varies significantly. Many policies use specific benefit triggers that are often based on the need for assistance with activities of daily living or cognitive impairment and may include a waiting or elimination period before benefits begin.
Families should review their policy or contact their insurance carrier to confirm covered services, daily or monthly benefit limits, waiting periods, and documentation requirements. Our team can help explain the services and care available at a selected community, so families have the information they need when speaking with their insurer.
Which financial resources does Innovation Senior Living accept?
Payment options vary by community. Depending on location and individual eligibility, residents may be able to use private pay, long-term care insurance, VA Aid & Attendance benefits, Florida Medicaid Long-Term Care Managed Care, or other qualifying resources. Can Veterans Benefits Help Pay for Senior Living?
Eligible Veterans and surviving spouses may be able to use the VA Aid & Attendance benefit to help with the cost of qualifying senior care. Aid & Attendance provides an additional monthly payment to eligible people receiving a VA pension who need help with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, or eating, or who meet certain other care-related requirements.
Eligibility depends on several factors, including military service and discharge history, income and net worth, age or disability requirements for VA Pension, and the individual’s need for assistance. Qualifying spouses may also be eligible.
Because VA requirements can be detailed, Innovation Senior Living can connect families with an experienced VA advisor to help them better understand potential eligibility and navigate the application process.

Florida Medicaid Long-Term Care
Can Medicaid Help Pay for Assisted Living in Florida?
For qualifying older adults and adults with disabilities, Florida Medicaid Long-Term Care (LTC) may help cover certain long-term care services, including services provided in an assisted living community setting. Eligibility is based on both care needs and financial requirements, and not every senior living community participates in every Medicaid plan.
It is also important for families to understand that Florida Medicaid LTC does not generally pay for an assisted living community’s room and board costs. Families may therefore still have responsibility for housing and other expenses not covered by the program.
Innovation Senior Living works with experienced partners who can help families explore whether Medicaid Long-Term Care may be an option and understand the next steps.

How Can You Find Senior Living That Fits Your Needs and Budget?
Affordability is about more than finding the lowest monthly rate. It means understanding what is included, what level of support is needed, which financial resources may apply, and how those pieces work together.
Innovation Senior Living focuses on serving middle income older adults and families with practical senior living options and transparent conversations about cost.
Who Qualifies for Florida Medicaid Long-Term Care?
Eligibility for Florida Medicaid Long-Term Care involves several requirements. In general, applicants must meet Florida Medicaid requirements as well as the program’s applicable age or disability, level-of-care, income, and asset criteria.
Florida’s LTC program can include:
- Florida residents who are U.S. citizens or hold qualified immigration status
- People age 65 or older who meet the required level of care in assisted living
- Those whose financial eligibility aligns with the Florida Medicaid income and countable-asset requirements
Eligibility guidelines can change each year, so working with a Medicaid advisor is encouraged. Our team can connect families with experienced professionals who can help them review current requirements and better understand the application process.
